Sharon Memorial Park
Sharon, MA
Sharon Memorial Park is one of the most solemn places within the Jewish community. But as the condition of a 1960’s administration building had withered, the caretakers of the country’s second-largest Jewish cemetery decided the community deserved a new facility to match the stature and bucolic setting. Reflecting the park’s dignified bronze memorials, which delicately honor the past while resting peacefully amid the natural beauty, our design solution echo’s the Park’s purpose. Pure white planes sit quietly above the earth providing unobstructed views of the grounds. Adding meaning and purpose are gentle gestures of Jewish symbolism and numerology, like the glass panes of the façade and the chapel skylight, a subtle, six-pointed star of folded planes above the Bema.
