Temple Shalom of Newton
BKA was tasked with transforming this beloved, but aging 1955 Temple into an exciting and vibrant space to attract a new generation of devoted family congregants. Current lighting technology is the perfect design element to kickstart new energy. The unique twist in this design was the use of angled vaults that expressed the inherent beauty of the structural scheme. Previously hidden in dim light and homogenous coloration, the structural system is visually activated with light and contrast. The new white drywall ceiling infill and recessed lighting frames the spectacular rays of new LED ribbon fixtures throughout. Redefining and capturing the essence of faith to reflect a tradition of open inclusiveness, while infusing energy that matches the Reform congregation.
